Day 1 JOHANNESBURG to KHAMA RHINO SANCTUARY Day 2 MAUN Day 3 - 4 OKAVANGO DELTA Day 5, 6, 7, 8 MOREMI Day 9 MAKGADIKGADI PANS Day 10 – 11 CHOBE NATIONAL PARK Day 12 – 13 VICTORIA FALLS (ZIMBABWE) Day 14 VICTORIA FALLS – TOUR ENDS Day 1 JOHANNESBURG to KHAMA RHINO SANCTUARY Departing Johannesburg at 06:30am we head north into Botswana and the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. The Khama Rhino Sanctuary Trust is a community based wildlife project established in 1992 to assist in saving the vanishing rhino, restore an area formerly teeming with wildlife to its previous natural state and provide economic benefits to the local Botswana community through tourism and the sustainable use of natural resources. This reserve situated on the Kalahari sandveld, has several natural waterholes and provides prime habitat for white rhino, zebra and wildebeest.[chalets - LD](B=breakfast, L=lunch D=dinner)Day 2 MAUN We drive through the Kalahari to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Since Maun’s founding in 1915 as the capital of the Batawana people, it has had a reputation as a hard-living ‘Wild West’ town helping the local cattle ranching and safari operations. The name Maun is derived from the San word ‘maung’, which translates ‘the place of short reeds’.[lodge BL-]Day 3 - 4 OKAVANGO DELTA We drive into the Okavango Delta to our remote tented camp in the heart of the largest inland delta in the world. This amazing environment has large numbers of red lechwe, buffalo, elephant and birds, particularly kingfishers! One of the best experiences in the Okavango Delta is to be poled along reed lined channels in a mokoro (dug out canoe). Sit back and relax as the water gurgles gently under the mokoro while your skilled poker points out the fauna and flora.[tented camp x2 BLD] Day 5, 6, 7, 8 MOREMI We take an open 4WD into Moremi Game Reserve for fantastic game viewing! Chief’s Island is the largest landmass within Moremi and was the Batswana tribe’s richest hunting ground, before being declared a game reserve by the tribe. We spend 4 days on game drives watching the abundant wildlife including elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion & other game, both in Moremi Game Reserve and in private concession reserves surrounding the park. We return to Maun midday on day 8 for an evening restaurant meal (own expenses). [3x tented bushcamp, 1x lodge Bx4 Lx4 Dx3]Day 9 MAKGADIKGADI PANS We have time for an optional game flight over the Okavango before we head to Nata. The shimmering saltpans of Makgadikgadi appear as a glaring white, endless plain. When the rain comes a dramatic change takes place as thousands of wildebeest and zebra migrate to the sweet nutritious grasslands and clouds of flamingo feed in its algae rich waters. It is an area of low rainfall so this spectacle only lasts a short while. [tented lodge or chalets BL -]Day 10 – 11 CHOBE NATIONAL PARK The Chobe River is a stunning feature of Botswana and will be the focus of our lodge stay. The Chobe River flows lazily along the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park attracting some of the largest herds of elephant in Africa. Early morning 4WD game drive in the Chobe National Park and an afternoon game viewing “sundowner” cruise to see the mighty elephant herds return to the Chobe River to quench their thirst. [lodge BL -]Day 12 – 13 VICTORIA FALLS (ZIMBABWE)We visit “Mosi oa Tunya” or “the smoke that thunders” - Victoria Falls. These magnificent falls are one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Victoria Falls Bridge was commissioned by Cecil John Rhodes in 1900, and was completed by 1905, although Rhodes never lived to see it. It spans the impressive gorge and the famous adrenalin pumping Victoria Falls bungi jump is done from this bridge, with a terrifying drop of 360ft (111m). Opportunities to white water raft on the mighty Zambezi River, bungi jump, or take a “flight of angels” (own expense). [hotel Bx2 - -]Day 14 VICTORIA FALLS – TOUR ENDS Tour ends after breakfast at 08:00am.[- B - -]

Reviews
I have to tell you, I had a wonderful time on the trip. I loved the Botswana - VIctoria Falls trip. I thought the sights were absolutely incredible.
Kevin and Gerrit did an incredible job organizing and running the trup. They were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and extremely helpful. The accommodations were clean and comfortable.
It is extremely odd because here in the States, the safari is considered to be the ultimate luxury trip, but what I discovered that you could have a life-changing trip for absolutely incredible.
I would recommend it to anybody.

The trip to the Okavango Delta was particularly nice. During the nature walk we were close to the animals and the campsite was very beautiful on the waterfront. The polers were very friendly and helpful and the tour by mokoro was one to remember.
In Moremi we saw many animals up close, even a lion with two cubs and a leopard with cub. The tour was very well organized and there was also room for private excursions.
This holiday was a great success. This was also due to our guide Meshack and our drivers Herman and Press. They did a very good job. Meshack was also an excellent cook and told us a lot about the animals and nature. In the evening he entertained us with riddles and told stories about the animals.
We have many pictures of the beautiful nature and the many animals that we saw. We really recommend this trip. Many thanks to Meshack and all the other people for this unforgettable experience.
And of course Sunway Safaris for offering this trip.

My wife and I just returned from a magnificent vacation which included the Sunway Wild Parks 14 day accommodated safari from August 4 to August 18, guided by Meschek. We carefully chose this vacation to combine culture, adventure, and wildlife viewing, at a moderate price point.
Sunway far surpassed our expectations. Our guide Meschek was a true professional, who went out of his way at all times to make everything go smoothly. He has a humble, endearing manner that gives him great leadership skills with a group. He is patient, kind, incredibly generous and always shares his quiet, yet great sense of humour. Unlike most tour people, he isn't 'in your face' talking all the time about trivial points everywhere. As a school teacher, I highly recommend this guide.
The lodges and camping experience (on the Okavango Delta) were excellent.
Please convey our warmest thanks to Meschek. He's an excellent ambassador for your company's safari activities. We also thank Sunway for providing us with the trip of a lifetime.
Yours truly,

We 've recently returned home after our Botswana Wildside tour starting at 18th dec 2011. I want just want to let you know that the tourleaders Shandle and Kevin, both did a great job. They both made of us feel safe and welcome, cooked very delicious meals, were very good (and entertaining) company and told us a lot about wildlife and local culture.
They organised everything so well, we felt both very relaxed. The tour was fantastic and we couldn't have wished for better guides. It was a wonderful experience. Thanks!

I just wanted to drop a quick email to thank you for all your help. Our trip was so amazing. "Amazing" is over used, but there just isn't a better word to describe our trip. The game viewing was incredible, the sunsets were breathtaking, and the people were beautiful in every respect. Our group was super fun, diverse and outgoing. We are already talking about "next time." I have a feeling that all future holidays will never live up to this experience. Steve and I will always cherish our photos and memories.
Thank you again!

Please see an email I got below from our clients on the Wildparks who have just returned, thanks so much for not cancelling the tour departure as originally planned, pax seemed to have had such a great time !
Arrived home late Wednesday from our fantastic trip. The places we went, the animals we saw and the adventures we experiences were just unbelievable. Neil bungie jumped from the bridge at Victoria Falls, Vic Falls so picturesque and the thunder roar of the water, we had a helicopter ride over the falls, canoed down the Zambezi river with hippos popping up to let us know they were in the water as we canoed by, crocs, elephants, lions, leopards, Giraffes we saw them all and more.Yes, we saw the big five.
Everything went well, more than we expected, fantastic time, Tour guide Jerry & driver Chris were wonderful, we had such a great and memorable time. Thankyou for making our plans happen.
Many thanks from Linda & Neil Harvey, Australia
We saw everything except a leopard but the entire trip was wonderful. We did almost freeze to death the first night at the Rhino Sanctuary but the rest of the trip, the weather was great.
Also, FYI, nobody even asked about Yellow Fever vaccinations but we were prepared.
Anyway ... thanks for all your help. It was certainly a trip of a lifetime and we will always remember it. (Of course Laura already wants to go back !)
